Yevgeny Morozov

A native of Ukraine (former Soviet Union), pianist Yevgeny Morozov holds degrees from Yale University, Mannes College of Music, and Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (U.K.). His major piano teachers include world-renowned performers and pedagogues Susan Starr (USA), Jacob Lateiner (USA), Boris Berman (USA), Philip Jenkins (UK).

Mr. Morozov is a prizewinner of many prestigious international competitions and music festivals in the U.S. and Europe. His awards include the Dorothy Mackenzie Artists Recognition Award (IKIF, New York City, 2001), Semi-final Prize at the Guardian Dublin International Piano Competition (Dublin, Ireland, 1997), United Kingdom Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe Scholarships Awards (London, U.K., 1996). He is Laureate of the of the Prokofiev's International Music Festival (Moscow, Russia, 1995), Kil's International Piano Competition (Kil, Sweden, 1994), and the J.N. Hummel International Piano Competition (Bratislava, Slovakia, 1993).

As an international recitalist, Mr. Morozov has performed in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Iceland, Netherlands, Austria, Slovakia, Russia, and Ukraine. Venues in which he has played include Carnegie Weill Recital Hall, Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, Holley Hall at the Beatrice Friedman Symphony Center in Florida, National Concert Hall in Dublin, Slovak Philharmonic Hall in Bratislava, Fatra Palace of Arts in Zilina, and National Opera of Ukraine in Kiev. Mr. Morozov has frequently appeared as a piano soloist with orchestra, performing with the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, Odessa National Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, Royal Scottish Academy Symphony Orchestra, and Rutgers University Symphony Orchestra, among others. His performances were broadcasted live on WQXR - New York's Classical Music Radio Station, the Slovak Radio in Zilina, Slovak TV in Bratislava, Ukrainian State Television Company in Kharkov, Ukrainian National TV Company in Kiev.

Apart from performing, Mr. Morozov teaches extensively, gives master classes, conducts seminars, holds lectures and adjudicates. At present Mr. Morozov is a faculty member at the Mason Gross School of the Arts (Extension Division) of Rutgers University and provides advanced level piano lessons for serious-minded students of all ages.
