Esma Pasic-Filipovic

Esma Pasic-Filipovic, an accomplished pianist from former Yugoslavia, has built a distinguished career as a soloist, chamber musician, Radio Sarajevo recording artist and a teacher. A University of Novi Sad graduate, she completed her BMA and MMA under Prof. Arbo Valdma and pursued post-graduate studies in musicology at the Leopold-Franzens University of Innsbruck, Austria. With roles as an accompanist at the University of Sarajevo and Vienna's Musickhochschule, Westminster Choir College, and as piano faculty at Westminster Conservatory of Music, Rider University, and Director of the Honors Music Program, Esma is actively engaged as an adjudicator for NJMTA, AAFAA, SMEA, and Music-Fest. A member of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Sciences, Esma received the 2022 Top Teacher Award from Steinway and Sons. In 2023, she became the Piano Department Head at Newark School of the Arts, where she is a member of the piano faculty. As a soloist and chamber musician, Esma has performed in former Yugoslavia, Austria, Denmark, Switzerland, and the USA. Her students, guided by her, have won numerous competitions. Now residing in Princeton, NJ, Esma Pasic-Filipovic embodies a harmonious blend of artistry and dedication in the world of music.
